Film Festival For Secondary Schools
Peel District School Board is proud to announce the return of the ever-growing 6th Annual Peel Student Film Festival.
This festival mission is to encourage and acknowledge the work of young filmmakers in Peel, celebrating their talent and providing them with a forum to share their captivating stories. Last year, we had over 200 submissions from the elementary and secondary panels. A selection of these films were showcased by the City of Brampton at Garden Square.
This is a call for submission to Peel District Secondary Schools, we are asking teachers to enter their best student work. The submission categories are as follows:
The Festival this year is a full day event, taking place on Tuesday May 23rd, 2017 at The Rose Theatre, 1 Theatre Lane, Brampton, and will run from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM.
Do your students have questions about their post-secondary education in film or animation? During the lunch hour, students will be given the opportunity to check out several film and animation college and university booths. They will have the opportunity to speak directly with instructors of specialized programs and be better prepared for their post secondary education.
If you are submitting student work to the Peel Student Film Festival, we encourage your school to attend.
Final submission deadline is Saturday, April 1st 2017.
PLEASE NOTE: Submitting your film to the Peel Student Film Festival does not guarantee that it will be shown at the festival. If your film successfully passes the judging process and is scheduled to be screened at this event, you will be contacted by the organizers and notified of your success. Best of luck and happy filming.
